Project Description

The project involves constructing approximately twelve miles of new track along the existing Fall River Secondary right-of-way from Berkley to Fall River, including drainage systems and road box installation. It also includes the removal of 10 miles of track and the demolition of seven bridges. Two new commuter rail stations will be built, along with a layover facility at the end of the line. Additionally, the Assonet River, Ashley Street, and Collins Street bridges will be completed using accelerated bridge construction techniques during limited shutdowns.
